Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) is an advanced tattooing method for the restoration of the scalp due to alopecia or thinning. It is applied using specialized equipment and techniques to inject special medical-certified pigments into the scalp. It creates the appearance of natural density in the applied areas.
There are three different SMP techniques:
1. SMP HD™ (Hair Density)
Applied to areas with thinning hair to give the appearance of greater density.
2. SMP SC™ (Scar Camouflage)
Applied to areas with surgical scars from hair transplants (FUT or FUE), scarring alopecia, injuries, burns or old surgeries “disappearing” the marks so that the patient can cut their hair as short as they want!
3. SMP SL™ (Shaved Look)
Applied to extensive alopecia (Stage 6 or 7) and gives the appearance of high scalp density, allowing men to shave their entire head for styling purposes.
Scar Restoration after FUT (Strip)
The coverage of the scar after hair transplantation using the FUT (strip) method is done either by the SMP method (small dots that resemble closely cropped hairs) or by applying a pigment similar to the skin color. In both cases, the scar is not visible after two sessions. Depending on the area to be covered, a third session might be necessary. This is an extremely demanding procedure that requires careful attention and significant experience.
